Kevin Zambrano Death, Obituary – Family, friends, and the Suffolk County community are mourning the tragic loss of Kevin Zambrano, a 25-year-old Shirley resident who died following a motorcycle crash in Centereach during the early morning hours of July 3. According to the Suffolk County Police Department, the collision occurred at approximately 12:00 a.m. on Middle Country Road at the intersection of Eastwood Boulevard in Centereach.
Investigators reported that Kevin was operating a Honda VT1 motorcycle eastbound on Middle Country Road when the motorcycle entered the intersection against a red traffic signal. Police say the motorcycle then collided with a northbound 2021 Nissan Sentra that was proceeding through the intersection with a green light.
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene and provided medical assistance before transporting Kevin to Stony Brook University Hospital. Despite the efforts of first responders and hospital personnel, he was later pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the Nissan, identified by police as Corinne Eslinger, 19, of Lake Grove, was not injured in the collision.
As part of the investigation, both the motorcycle and the Nissan were impounded for comprehensive safety inspections. Detectives assigned to the Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
